Port Isaac Raglan Pullover

Port Isaac is the name of the town where the British TV series ā€œDoc Martinā€ is filmed. Itā€™s just gorgeous! This relaxed raglan pullover would fit in beautifully in this little seaside town.

The body and sleeves are knit in the round to the armholes, where you have two options for working the yoke. You may either work the front, back, and sleeves separately, then sew them together (which is my recommendation since itā€™s easier to work and the seams add stability to the piece), or you may join the pieces and work the yoke all at once to the neck edge. This is a more complicated way to work, since the sleeves and body sections have to be shaped at different intervals, so there are a number of separate instructions that you have to combine and work simultaneously.

The collar begins with a narrow band of ribbing on either front, which widens every few rows until all of the front stitches are worked in ribbing. To finish off the collar, stitches are worked in ribbing for a few inches across the top of the fronts, sleeves, and back, and the collar is shaped at the top edge using short rows, then bound off.
