Top-Down Empire Waist Pullover

I had designed a very feminine pullover with a wide, deep scoop neck, and I wanted an easy openwork pattern that would lend itself well to the design. I think this little bit of eyelet is exactly what this sweater needs to make it truly stunning. The eyelet carries through the Garter stitch trim at the waist and bell sleeves. I love how this piece turned out!

This pullover is worked from the top down, beginning at the back shoulders. The back is worked to the armholes, then placed on hold while the front is picked up from the back shoulders and worked to the armholes. Then the back and front are joined and the body is worked to the bottom edge, with waist and hip shaping. The sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked to the cuffs, with short-row shaping to shape the sleeve caps.

The Lace Rib pattern is presented in charted format only.
