Top-Down Cardigan

This beautiful cardigan will go anywhere–from home, to work, to a night out. Because it’s worked from the top down, you can make it any length that suits you. And the waist and hip shaping make the cardigan figure-flattering. Wear it over your favorite tank top, or work the matching top-down shell (Pattern# 169) to go with it.

The cardigan begins at the back shoulders. The back is worked down to the armholes, then placed on hold while the fronts are picked up from the back shoulders and worked to the armholes. Then the back and fronts are joined and the body is worked to the bottom edge, with waist and hip shaping. The 3/4-length sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked to the cuffs, with short-row shaping to shape the sleeve caps.

The lace edging pattern is presented in written format.
